Crazy Times

Last week was crazy. Not only did John have an AAG conference in Boston, but our babysitter's brother, Luke Mercardante, was killed last week in Afghanistan. He was only in his 30s and leaves behind two young children. She is devastated and needless to say, taking a few weeks off to re-coup. We managed, and thanks to good friends-child care situations have been taken care of. Please continue to pray for Ms. Bridget's family as they mourn and come to grips with this terrible loss.

Last week in pictures....

Camden busts his nose/face at school. His nose is pretty scratched up. Nothing will slow him down though-he still enjoys playing peek-a-boo with Adalynn.

Adalynn's reading....well not really, but she is getting really good at cruising and starting to throw little baby fits when she doesn't get what she wants.

Broderick lost tooth #3...he is a little worried about eating corn on the cob, especially since 3 others are loose.

Soccer game #1 and #2 of his fourth season. I can't believe how much different he plays now-getting better and better each game. Now, if he could only pay attention for 1/2 the practice hard telling what would happen.

Getting prettier and prettier each day (we're not biased at all :) )

Feeling Better

Adalynn is feeling much better as far as the vomiting and diarrhea. We are enjoying the extra warm weather, though not the pollen overabundance that it brings. Hopefully with the rain that is on its way, it will decrease.

To let you see GA pollen in perspective. Pollen in Atlanta is registering at 3238 / m³ today. Anything above 1500 is considered "Very High" and we are almost double that. I think even Adalynn is feeling the effects of it. Her nose is runny, she has a cough and her eyes are red and a tad bit puffy. Camden has had it pretty bad over the past few days and is on two different medicines (one being prescription allergy medicine) and John is a little stuffy, but it doesn't seem to effect Broderick or I.

Adalynn eating dinner tonight and playing Peek-A-Boo with me.

Adalynn pulling up and looking way to grown-up standing.

Adalynn looking too cute and Broderick looking too grown-up in his new shorts that are a size 10!!! They are a little long (but that is the style, not because they are too big on him). UGH!!! He is growing up to fast!

I have found a new favorite to add to my song list. It's called You're Going to Miss This by Trace Adkins...here is the chorus.

You're going to miss this
You're going to want this back
You're going to wish these days
Hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're going to miss this
oh how I already do.

New Portraits of Adalynn

Hi Haley!

Spring Break week ended a lot better than it started. Adalynn finally stopped vomiting. It took a long time and every once in awhile I think she's going to go again, but so far, so good. Wish us luck. Also, other than Broderick briefly getting it, we've stayed healthy. Runny noses are now a problem, but with pollen that looks like this (see below) you can understand why. You know pollen counts are high when you can sweep it into a pile on your front porch and you have to turn your windshield wipers on to clean it off your car before you drive. YUCK.

I wish I could say the same for our house guests. My brother, "Uncle Nick", his financé, Mandi, and her daughter came to visit us. Broderick and Camden loved meeting their soon to be new cousin-Haley. The weather could have been nicer, but the kids loved playing together anyways. We spend Saturday afternoon at Discover Mills, painting pottery at the Painted Potter. Nick did end up getting sick on Saturday night, as did Haley on their way back to Indiana. I am not sure how it happened so quickly and/or if it was from us...but they got some sort of virus.

Thanks for checking in on us. Adalynn's is quickly approaching 10 months and doing something new every day. We are so excited that her first birthday is right around the corner.

On the Move

Who's Next???

John is fine....he went to bed and woke up feeling a lot better.
Broderick on the other hand, began vomiting tonight right after I brushed his teeth. He didn't eat his dinner and kept complaining that his stomach hurt, but said it would come and go. So far Camden and I are fine. Not sure who's going to be next.

UGH!!! I hate the waiting game!

Adalynn is doing better and better each day. She is smiling, crawling and acting more like normal. She has learned a new trick...she can successfully blow things out her nose without sneezing. She makes the cutest faces while doing so. She did vomit again this evening---we have a recheck with the doctor on Thursday and I will let you know what he says.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for John's mom who underwent a procedure today and that her labs come back clean and for Ryan (my student last year)-he is undergoing a procedure on Thursday related to the relapse of neuroblastoma that he has been battling for the last year. John's grandma also needs prayers as she recovers from a broken neck. And last but not least, for our family as we try to steer clear of this nasty stomach bug and get well at the same time.
